IMPROVED EDUCATIONAL SERVICES THROUGH THE USE ICT Abstract A study was conducted in Kenya being a developing country to evaluate the use of information and technology in high schools and teacher colleges. As the part of that study we established how ICT has improved educational services. This article explores a number of ways in which information and communications technologies (ICT) have been incorporated and integrated in a teacher education program in order to extend opportunities for students to interact with ICT as part of their preparation for becoming early childhood professionals. It describes three examples where ICT have been utilized in different contexts to promote understanding of the implications of technologies in educational settings, to engage students with powerful conceptual ideas and as a means of communication between students on campus and those in remote areas. Until recently Kenya was held up as a glowing example of the success of the free market economy. It was supposed to be a shining example of democracy, a beacon of hope for what Europeans used to call "the dark continent." Now all these dreams lay in ashes. By this I mean the birth of another nation will be seen as the ultimate way to stop war and clear cut way forward to end northern Sudan prejudiced superiority in southern Sudan. President Omar El-Bashir latest comment that Sudan will celebrate the outcome of referendum result if southerner chooses to secede is not a mere equivocal rhetoric but an indication of peace. The same man late last year had precluded the idea of southerner’s secession. During his recent visit to juba, he vowed to consecrate with southerners in their quest for sovereignty. The southerner must however thank the international community for cornering this marauding beast leaving him with no option to oppose the much awaited referendum.
